(Before I begin, since I’m sure you’re wondering, my name is pronounced ORLA! I’m from Dublin and am now based in Sevenoaks, Kent).

After training at Ireland’s Ballymaloe Cookery School I worked as a sourdough baker, events caterer, short order cook, head chef, and a private chef for gatherings from the South of France to the Scottish Highlands. I also spent time as a stageur (chef’s apprentice) in Lima, Peru. (See The Bear, Season 2, to get a feel for what I’m talking about here).

You know that Virginia Woolf quotation, ‘One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well’? Well, I couldn’t agree more. It is my long-held, core belief that mealtimes are some of the best moments of the day. Time to unwind, regroup, and savour something delicious. Whether it’s developing recipes for healthy everyday eating or catering casual yet creative private dinners, my goal is always the same: to create food that delivers a little moment of joy in your day.
