me

           I’m Órfhlaith and I’m a chef.

I like to travel and eat my way around the world. Before chef life I spent years living in Madrid, where I developed a life-long love for olives and half my blood turned into red wine.

I also spent a year shlurping noodles in Hanoi. I mastered chopsticks and built up an impressive tolerance for red hot chilis.

When I returned home to Ireland I had a good long think about what it was I really wanted to do. I realised that the common thread of all my chapters was food, and even though kitchen life seemed scary, I knew I had to give it a go or I’d always regret it. So in 2017 I attended the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Cork. fullsizeoutput_e12

Since then I’ve worked at Thyme -a hotel on an organic farm in the Cotswolds, The Fumbally Café in Dublin and as a private chef in the south of France. I’ve also staged in Siete and Mó Bistro, two exciting new restaurants in Lima, Peru.  

This is my corner of the internet, where I share the recipes I turn to again and again, my food experiences and the snapshots I take along the way.
