I’m a Dublin-bred, London-based chef and recipe developer. I make food that makes people feel good.

After training at Ireland’s Ballymaloe Cookery School I worked as a sourdough baker, events caterer, short order cook, head chef, and a private chef for gatherings from the South of France to the Scottish Highlands. I also trained as a stageur (chef’s apprentice) in Lima, Peru.

Over time I realised that the food that I liked making the most was the healthy, everyday stuff. I feel more inspired by seasonal salads that actually fill you up than fancy 5-course dinners. You know that Virginia Woolf quotation, ‘one cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well’? Well, I couldn’t agree more. That’s what motivates me. Creating nourishing food that fuels people for their lives, knowing that whatever happens, at least they’ve been well fed.

That knowledge led me to train as a nutrition coach. I now work full-time as a health-focused recipe developer and still cater the occasional small event, creating vibrant, good-for-you food.

(Oh, and since I’m sure you’re wondering, my name is pronounced ORLA!)
